Housing and Dining

Georgetown University provides on-campus residential housing and dining services for a majority of undergraduate students. Living at Georgetown can involve living in one of our on-campus residence halls or apartments as well as living off-campus during junior or senior year. Students are required to live on-campus and have a meal plan during their first two years at Georgetown, a particularly important time for building connections and community on-campus. Resources for locating off-campus housing are provided through the Office of Off-Campus Life.

Visit the following links to learn more about housing and dining services at Georgetown:

  • On-campus Housing
The Office of Student Housing (Housing Office) is responsible for providing a comfortable, safe, and stable environment within which students can experience personal and intellectual development. The Housing Office is responsible for housing assignments, housing charges, and administration of the Housing Occupancy Agreement.

  • Dining Services
Georgetown University Dining Services works to meet the diverse nutritional needs of the student population at Georgetown. Visit the Dining Services website to learn about meal plans and dining menus.

  • Residence Life
The Office of Residence Life is dedicated to students and committed to the Jesuit ideal of educating the whole person through building a vibrant living community, supporting personal development, and promoting leadership. The over 100 student and professional staff members in this office both live and work on-campus.

  • Living and Learning Communities
Living and Learning Communities (LLC) are designed for collaboration between faculty, staff, and students. The community works with the Residence Life staff, student leaders, interested faculty, and other campus administrators to integrate the educational experience into the residential environment. Each LLC is different but all are driven by the common desire for students to take responsibility for their environment, to enhance their educational experience, and to integrate their living and learning.

  • Off-campus Housing Resource Center
The Off-campus Housing Resource Service can help locate off-campus housing for students. The website provides information on signing a lease, inspections by D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, and information on preparing to live off-campus.

  • Off-Campus Student Life
The Office of Off-Campus Student Life (OCSL) works to support Georgetown University students who do not live in University housing.  OCSL also works with the surrounding communities concerning issues of students in the neighborhoods.  By providing education and support to off campus students, OCSL strives to help students secure safe and decent housing, receive the services they need, and be responsible and proud citizens of the neighborhoods.  In working with the neighbor residents and community organizations, OCSL actively collaborates with residents to enhance the position of the student in the neighborhood and to promote postive town/gown relations.
